If you are looking for a place to host your workloads, there are quite a few options out there. Depending upon your requirements or preferences, one may stand out more than the others.
Since the Agility Platform sits on top of public/private cloud tools and providers, CSC provides formal integrations into the popular providers so our customers can use the ones that meet their requirements today, while having the flexibility to change providers down the road easily if required.
The Agility Platform is the store front for our customers’ end users. Here they can click on Platforms, Applications or larger, more complex Service Offerings to subscribe to them. After approval within the workflow, based on the governance in the Blueprint, the selected item, such as web servers in the public cloud, database servers in the local data center, required settings for load balancers, networking, storage, etc., is provisioned and configured appropriately.
In order to allow more flexibility to our customers, the Agility Platform has just released an Adapter to IBM SoftLayer, which offers cloud infrastructure as a service. The integration with SoftLayer has many features, such as:
- Ability to deploy both Windows and Linux instances
- Upgrade/Downgrade memory or CPU on running instances
- Create read, update and delete volumes
- Sync and onboard unmanaged virtual servers instances into Agility Platform
- Order Bare Metal server (monthly) with OS support
- Start, stop, restart, Linux or Windows Bare Metal servers within the Agility Platform

Customers who have the Agility Platform installed within their own Data Center(s) can upgrade to the newest version of Agility and/or updated adapters. Please refer to the documentation to review which versions of the Agility Platform the Adapters have been certified against; an upgrade of Agility may be required.
For customers using CSC-managed Cloud offerings, such as BizCloud or CSC Hybrid Cloud, please discuss this change with your account representative since those CSC Offerings follow a separate schedule for updating the platform, as well as the unique services they provide.
